Manage your data

You're in control of your FictionFlux data. You can reset your activity while keeping your account, or delete your account entirely. This page explains what each option does, how long it takes, and how to do it on the web or in the mobile app — when you're ready, the buttons take you to where the action happens.

Reset my data

A fresh start that keeps your account, coins, and purchases. Best if you want to clear your history without losing what you've bought. Available to signed-in readers only.

What gets cleared
  • Reading history & continue-reading positions
  • Your library
  • Authors you follow
  • View history
  • Push-notification tokens
  • Your comments and ratings
What stays
  • Your account & login
  • Your coin balance (regular & bonus)
  • Chapters you've unlocked & books you own
  • Your subscription
On the web: Sign in, then open the Reset section on the action page and confirm.
In the app: Open the app → Profile → Account & data → Reset my data.

You'll confirm with your password and a one-time code we email you. The reset runs immediately and you stay signed in.

Delete my account

Permanently closes your account. There are two ways to do it, depending on whether you can still sign in — they differ in how long they take and why.

If you can sign in

Immediate

Self-service. Confirm your password and a one-time emailed code, and your account is deleted right away — you're signed out everywhere and can't sign back in. There is no grace period and it can't be undone. This works because your live session already proves the account is yours.

If you can't sign in

Up to 14 days

Request deletion by email (handy if you've lost access or removed the app). We send a confirmation link; clicking it doesn't delete anything on its own. A member of our team then reviews the request and permanently deletes the account within 14 days. You can cancel any time before then.

Why does the signed-out path take longer? When you're not signed in, there's no session to prove the account is really yours — so a person checks the request before anything irreversible happens. This human-in-the-loop step protects you: it stops someone with brief access to your inbox from instantly wiping your account, and the 14-day window doubles as a grace period in case you change your mind.

Removed when it's processed
  • Email, username, password, avatar, bio
  • Reading progress and library
  • Follows and push-notification tokens
  • All active sessions (signs you out everywhere)
Anonymised, not removed
  • Comments & ratings are reassigned to "Deleted user" so threads don't break
  • Wallet, purchases, refunds & payouts are kept for tax / audit for up to 7 years, with no PII attached
On the web: Signed in: use the Delete section on the action page. Can't sign in: use the email-request form on the same page.
In the app: Open the app → Profile → Account & data → Delete account. (Removed the app? Use the web email-request form instead.)

How these are protected

  • Signed-in actions use two-step verification: you enter your password, then a one-time code we email you. A signed-in session alone isn't enough.
  • Email deletion requests are confirmed by a link, then reviewed by our team before anything is removed — so a request can't silently delete an account you didn't mean to.
